Welcome to my blog! My name is Rachel and I'm a mom of 3 kids. They are 8, 10, and 12 years old (as of March 2026). My husband is from China and our kids are growing up bilingual with me talking with them in English and my husband talking with them in Chinese. One of my big hobbies is writing and illustrating books. I've had a hard time finding good "living books" for teaching my kids about Chinese history that are story based. I have, however, found a few and my list of Living Books for China is growing (take a look at the pages about it). I hope this blog is an encouragement to those that take a look at it. My books about Chinese history, biographies, language learning, geography, and animals (and birds) are available on www.lulu.com (go to the Bookstore tab on the top and search for "Rachel Bubb") and some are on amazon.com. If you've enjoyed the things I post on the blog and want a bit more, I have more on my Patreon account here. (on Patreon look for: Stories From China For Kids; it's $3 a month and there are extra stories, a learning Chinese magazine, and more).
This blog highlights books and resources for learning about Chinese history and language for children. I hope it's also an encouragement for other homeschool families who are homeschooling bi-lingually or who want to add in some Chinese history into their homeschool.
