It's been a long time since I've posted! December is always super busy for our family- we have 2 birthdays, Christmas New Year and then January is another birthday and Chinese New Year. We had a good 2 weeks off. We're doing a few weeks of school and then will have a week or two off for Chinese New Year. This year has been challenging. We normally do 2 weeks off for Christmas, then a few weeks of school, and then 1-2 weeks off for Chinese New Year. However, this year, the local school kids have had a super, super long break (from late December until Feb 6 I've heard!) because so many people (and kids!) got COVID back in December. They figure they'd just finish school early- they might have to "make up" a week or two and have a week or two added on in July (schools here finish in mid to late July for the summer). I'm not sure yet. However, it's been challenging trying to do homeschool when the kids' friends are out playing and want them to play outside. Here's some snow picture- I love it when you can see the snowflakes.
This blog highlights books and resources for learning about Chinese history and language for children. I hope it's also an encouragement for other homeschool families who are homeschooling bi-lingually or who want to add in some Chinese history into their homeschool.
