Welcome to my blog! My name is Rachel and I'm a mom of 3 kids. They are almost 6, 8, and 10 (as of October 2023). My husband is from China and we are homeschooling our kids using the Charlotte Mason method of education. Our kids are growing up bilingual with me talking with them in English and my husband talking with them in Chinese. One of my big hobbies is writing and illustrating books. I've had a hard time finding good "living books" for teaching my kids about Chinese history that are story based. I have, however, found a few and my list of Living Books for China is growing. :-) Take a look at my pages; I hope this blog is an encouragement to those that take a look at it. I also have another website with a children's newspaper I publish called: INK (The Illustrated Newspaper for Kids- find it here). A number of my books (about geography, birds, and nature study) are available as PDFs on the INK website or at Living Book Press here, otherwise look for the books on www.amazon.com or www.lulu.com (look for "Rachel Bubb")
This blog highlights books and resources for learning about Chinese history and language for children. I hope it's also an encouragement for other homeschool families who are homeschooling bi-lingually or who want to add in some Chinese history into their homeschool.
